5 Boutiques To Hit At Le Garage Sale

Austin’s biggest shopping event is this weekend!! And if you’re a woman who appreciates awesome deals (I know I do) from all the best local boutiques, then you’ve got to make a pit stop at Le Garage Sale.

If you’re unfamiliar with Le Garage Sale, it’s a bi-annual event where 100+ boutiques set up shop in Palmer Events Center and have insane mark downs on every single thing in their pop-ups. This next event will take place on January 25th and 26th.

Go early on Saturday as a VIP (9:30 am) for the best selection of stuff or go Sunday afternoon for additional markdowns (also on Sunday, a lot of vendors will bargain with you).

But before you snag your tickets (link below), there are a couple more things you need to know.

First, if you tend to get overwhelmed when shopping, this event is a lot — it’s a lot of shops and a lot of people.

But I don’t want you to miss out on something truly special due to anxiety. I know you can handle the energy and the excitement.

It’s all about mental preparation and having a plan of action.

So meet your checklist…

THINGS TO BRING

  • hair tie — hair needs to be out of your way, because you’ll be throwing clothes on and off

  • reusable bags — many boutiques won’t have bags, so you’ll need to bring your own

  • cash — most boutiques will have a credit card machine, but in the madness of the event, sometimes it’s easier to use cash and definitely easier to bargain on Sunday

  • your favorite people — nothing calms nerves more than your besties, so make sure to bring along one or two of your favorite humans to the event

  • water bottle — shopping is hard work, so make sure to stay hydrated during the event

  • pen — to mark the spots you want to go to on the map (explained more below)

THINGS TO WEAR

Not all boutiques have private changing spaces, so you’ll need to be ready with an outfit you can change in and out of comfortably in a public space.

  • sports bra, so you can change in and out of tops no matter how visible you are

  • biker shorts or Spanx shorts under your clothes, so you can change in and out of bottoms

  • good outfit options include jeans and a tee or sundress

  • comfy shoes w/ socks (you may be trying on boots, so socks are essential)

WHERE TO GO

Once you arrive, you’ll get a map. Circle these boutiques to navigate through the insanity and straight to the good stuff.

Knowing where to go will help you feel grounded, then, from there, you can browse as you feel comfortable.
