From Expert to Easy: How to Create Any Outfit Using A Simple Formula
The answers in life often lie in our ability to observe, change, and remain open. Things are rarely as finite as we would like them to be, and style is no different.
Your style is always changing, and there are many roads you can take in styling the clothes that make up your style.
These roads can be overwhelming though.
And that feeling is how you end up using only a sliver of what’s inside your closet and spinning into anxiety when you see the rest.
But there’s another way.
Building each outfit step by step allows you to avoid the anxiety of the big picture, stick to your skill level and think in detail.
To create any outfit, you only need to start with three or four things: shoes on your feet, a top/bottom or dress on your body, and one accessory to pull it together.
Not too much, right? These simpler outfits, which are made up solely of the ingredients above, should be a sigh of relief — you know you’re doing it right.
Then, when you’re ready, you can use that simpler outfit as a jumping off point for more complicated styling. Just build on it.
And today, I’m showing you how to start with two simple outfits then build more outfits from them. For the “ingredients,” I’ve put suggestions that align with what I’m using, but are also general, so you have freedom to use the formula with what you have in your closet.
You can use this formula over and over again to create tons of outfits in your closet. Snap a photo with each outfit you create, so you can reference it later on days when you want a repeat of something fabulous.
Once you finish the article, I would LOVE to hear from you. Leave me a comment below and share how these tips have helped you become a more confident stylist in your own closet.
Lots of love and joy!
