Summer Scarf Styled.
Last week we focused on how you can enhance an outfit with oodles of accessories for the days when it’s too hot to layer. This week, I’m sticking to 1 single accessory and showing you 5 exciting ways to wear it.
I never know what is going to inspire an outfit. Is it a certain color that fits my mood that day? Is it an event I’m going to? Or maybe it’s what I feel most confident in on a stressful day. Sometimes, a single accessory can inspire a week’s worth of outfits. That was the case this week, and my inspiration came from an old scarf that made me feel playful and summer-y.
Typically, when I think of scarves I also think of Fall and booties and comfy sweaters. Last week, though, I was doing some cleaning and found that small square scarf, which had been a gift from my mom probably 15 years ago. I was thrilled! It’s very light-weight and perfect for the summer season, so I made a week’s worth of outfits inspired by it!
For a more casual look, I absolutely loved tying this scarf in my hair. I felt reminiscent of the 50s and completely modern at the same time. This technique can work for any hairstyle: short, long, hair up, or hair down…the key is finding what makes you feel quirky and confident.
For the days when I want to brighten up a black dress, an arm party of bangles and a gold watch is just the way to go! Rolling up my bright red scarf thin and wrapping it around my wrist several times created a blissful assortment of texture and color.
I am lucky enough to work from home most days, but when I do venture into the office I get to intermingle my love for looking professional and the casual dress code of the office. Tying my scarf in a bandit knot under my chambray button up struck the perfect balance this week.
Tying this scarf in an adorable bow around my purse allowed me bring a pop of color to the white gator bag. Seeing the scarf cheered me up all day, even though I wasn’t actually wearing it!
Tying a scarf in a square knot around your neck is one of my favorite classic, nostalgic looks. I always want to feel as graceful and charming as I did while wearing this floral scarf. I paired it with a simple white dress because we all know who the star of this outfit is.
